Working at MTX

I am superstitious when it comes to numbers; not to say I believe in numerology. But I do believe certain numbers are lucky for me, while some not so much. 7 is lucky, 8 not at all, 25 (2+5=7) I associate with people I like.

The geek that I am, I have spent a lot of time in understanding a great deal about prime numbers. Their pattern intrigues me. My favourite prime number has to be 17. It has the number 7 and yet 7+1 comes to 8. It’s like the perfect balance of Unity of Opposites or Yin and Yang, in layman terms. I would like to believe that it is more than a mere coincidence that I joined MTX on January 17, 2018.

I could not have asked for a better company to begin my career with. In a little over a year, I have seen myself grow, and learn things at an exponential speed.

So much has happened, in so short a time. There are many events that I would like to talk about but I am going to focus on the ones that are the closest to my heart Here you go...

  1. Freshman to Working Professional

    First Company. First Day. Nerves!

That’s popular opinion. It was anything but, for me. Our very personable HR ensured that I was at ease the moment I entered the office. After the induction, I got to interact with some of the most long-serving members of the MTX. That was all it took for me to realise that I will always be able to approach everyone here.

Till date, the leadership team has always guided and helped me, whenever I needed them

  2. The First Ever Project

It was not long after, that I got to dig in my fingers in my first project. I have always been curious about learning new technology and functionalities. Being part of a project that involved Board Member Management System was a great way to start my journey. Interacting with the onshore team helped me in grooming and handling myself in the client's’ presence. It was not just a great learning opportunity but a great motivational boost as well.

  3. My Favorite Projects

All the projects that I have worked on so far, have taught me something or the other. But there is one project that I must write about at length. It almost felt like I was part of of a crime-fighting team. The project I am talking about involved building an app for the police for them to be more productive on field.

Next would be the work I did for Department of IT, of another State Entity. I worked under the governor’s office and interacted with a lot many people during the course of the project. It is not just the work you do but the exposure you get, that makes working at MTX so great!

  4. Beyond Salesforce

I have worked mostly on Salesforce projects, but I also got the chance to work on AI. I have taught myself some aspects of AI but being able to work hands on gave me a different kind of thrill altogether.

As an MTX employee, I also attended the Machine Learning Developer Summit 2019 (MLDS 19) in January this year. It was a great opportunity to interact with AI innovators, practitioners and developers to learn about the advancements in machine learning tools and product development.

  5. Why MTX rocks

Not only is MTX a great learning platform, it really cares about Culture. We are one big family across locations. I cannot emphasise enough on all the adulation and recognition you get from leadership team; the shoutouts, prizes and the appreciations. NOt to mention the fun culture. It goes a long way in keeping me motivated and giving my best every single day.

  6. Last but not the least...

I was able to fulfil my childhood dream of buying a bike with money earned from my first job. For a biking enthusiast, that is a big deal!

As another year rolls by, I hope to learn more, be a part of more interesting projects, and do MTX proud. The journey has been incredible so far, and I only see it becoming bigger and better!
